A while back I came across the "Map of Historical Regions of Europe" see GitHub link project and got curious. Why not vectorize and write a profile for each region? A friend and I decided to turn it into a small pet project — a good excuse to explore some new technologies and approaches along the way.
This map is basically an invitation to look under the hood of national states. Before today's neat borders were drawn, regions had their own organic lives, shapes, and hidden connections. It’s a playful peek into how things used to look and form, showing that historical reality is always a bit more diverse and fascinating than we imagine.
